Mexico: Baja California: CaboThe two per day charter fishing and catching continues for the cruisers. Dorado catches are also up. Many boats are catching limits. La PazFishing for wahoo and tuna went nuts this past week--in spite of the full moon. Lures were the best bait--also quite surprising.
East Cape Bill Jacoby and his group just returned from Palmas de Cortez. He had a boat load of tuna and dorado with a few billfish. He said it was the best fishing trip he had ever been on in spite of 2 days of broken boats. The fishing must have been really good. Ensenada No report.
Mexico Mainland: Rocky Point No report.
San Carlos/Guaymas Dorado have stuck around but not much else.
Ixtapa-ZihuatanejoAwesome dorado bite with limits for all. Sailfish were also biting and they were being caught as close as 7 miles from shore.
Mazatlan:Angler numbers have picked up and everyone of them are doing well. Sailfish, bigger dorado for the cruisers and limits for the pangas along with some nice pargo, and mojarres. Puerto VallartaLots of tuna to over 100lbs. but a few nice billfish to 400lbs. CancunBoats Very slow fishing this week due to rain for most of the week. Costa RicaNo report. Guatemala No report.
FRESH WATER MEXICO BASS FISHING most of the lakes have a lot of water in them so fishing this coming season should be very good. Most of the lodges will open Oct.1, 2005. LAKE HUITES Closed for the summer.
El Salto No report.
Agua MilpaNo report. COMEDERO Closed for the summer.
Baccarac Coach Night from Texas Tech university tried the lake this week and even though he didn't manage to catch any 10lbs. fish a few anglers at the lake caught bass as heavy as 11lbs. Best baits were crankbaits, rattle traps and swimbaits.
