The Bighorn is one of the finest trout rivers in the
lower 48 states. Avoid the crowds and catch larger fish......Fish the lower bighorn. David and Patti Schaff own and operate a brand new lodge on the Bighorn. David has been guiding in Montana since 1985. They are both natives of Montana and the Bighorn Valley. They are a year-round outfitter. Their brand new lodge caters to 12 guests with all inclusive amenities including: rooms with private baths, meals that will rival the finest restaurants, guides, boats and transportation to and from the days activities
|
Great meals, guaranteed!! Patti serves the best, most delicious gourmet meal you will ever eat. Mike Kannapel (owner of Anglers & Hunters Travel) can attest to this! |

The lodge uses jet boats and river boats (shown above) |
Location: 7 miles south of Hardin, Montana on Highway 313 and only 50 minutes from Billings, Montana’s Logan International Airport. Goal: To make your fishing vacation as enjoyable and successful as possible. They welcome you to the Big Sky Country of Montana. The Fishing: Census figures indicate 7,000 to 10,000 catchable trout per mile on the lower Big Horn River. Many trout are 18 to 22 inches in length with several trophy Rainbow and Brown Trout even larger. There are 32 miles of exceptional fishing on the Big Horn River, our guides are local and know the upper, middle and lower sections of the river. The lower section is the best kept secret of the 32 miles. This section is visited by very few anglers and outfitters. This allows you to fish all day and see few anglers or no anglers at all. This section also contains more large trout than any other section of the river. You can fish from a drift boat, jet boat or wade from the bank or the river. For fly fishermen a 6/7 weight rod with floating lines or medium to light weight spin rod with a 6 pound test seems to work best.
