Most Archery tags are available over the counter as are most 2nd, 3rd and 4th rifle elk tags. Deer tags for all firearm hunts are available on a draw basis only. the deadline is April 4, 2001 What is included in guided hunt? Wood burning stove for heat, cot, foam mattress, meals, tents for sleeping and for dining, beverages (no alcohol will be allowed in camp), horse transportation for hunter and game. All archery hunts are 7 day hunts while Muzzle Loader hunts are 5 day hunts, it is possible to buy extra days on either hunt.
These hunts are at 10000' elevations or higher depending on weather. Each camp encompasses approximately 25 square hunting miles. The style of hunting is still hunting, stalking and a hunter will usually not be in the saddle more than 2 1/2 hours maximum at any one time. We can tailor a hunt to almost anyone's ability or style of hunting. The normal guide ration is 1 guide per 2 hunters but can accommodate a ratio of 1 hunter to 1 guide if desired. Hunter success runs from 30% to 80% depending on hunter ability and weather. HUNT #1 HUNT #2
HORSE PACK IN-ARCHERY-BLACK POWDER- RIFLE/HANDGUN Elevations average 10,000 and are in 2 separate locations giving each camp an 25 sq. mile area to hunt. A packer will check on you at prearranged times to pack the hunter and his game out. Hunter success will vary from 30 to 75% depending on hunter skills, effort and weather conditions. Terrain is a mixture of aspens, meadows, pine & spruce, and above timberline peaks. $1000 pp minimum of 4 persons to maximum of 6
