The native grasslands of Texas are strikingly similar to the African plains. Therefore, it is no coincidence that private hunting ranch abounds with exotic game imported from Africa, the Middle and Far East, New Zealand, India and Europe. The season for exotic game is 365 days per year, which allows for these safaris to be planned around your spring and fall hunts.
These game management ranches provide a high quality hunting experience without the cost and time of traveling overseas. The available game range from North American Big Game such as Whitetail Deer, the American Buffalo, Elk to exotic species such as the Axis Deer, Sika Deer, Fallow Deer, Red Stag, Blackbuck Antelope and various species of Rams and boars.
In addition, several offer some African plains game such as Antelope, Gazelles and Wildebeests. For the hunter with limited time, they provide an excellent opportunity to bag a variety of game.
Three game ranches that we recommend for our clients are:
Missouri
This ranch, which is located in the scenic Ozark Hills of South Central Missouri, offers over 4,000 game animals from around the world. In addition to the hundreds of elk, whitetail deer, and boar that roam this ranch land, this ranch is also home to a wide variety of exotic animals, many of which can be hunted year round.
Axis deer are also considered one of the best tasting wild game meats and with adult males tipping the scales at over 200 pounds; you’ll have plenty on the table for months. The venison is a mild, naturally tender red meat that contains less than 1% fat on average. Management Fallow and Sika doe hunts available on a first come, first serve basis from September 1st through December 31st. These hunts make for some of our most challenging hunts while providing excellent table fare at very affordable prices.
Accommodations are either a main lodge, private cabins or a lakeside loft. The ranch has a well-stocked lake adjacent to the cabins that has an ample supply of catch-and-release Bass, Bluegill and Catfish. You do not need a Missouri fishing license just don’t forget to bring your tackle.
All hunts include 2 nights lodging, home cooked meals, guide fees, field cleaning and trophy preparation, guaranteed hunting license and catch and release bass fishing. Sales tax and guide gratuity not included.

South Texas
This private ranch is known for its excellent hunting opportunities for exotic and native game including whitetail deer, antelope, aoudad sheep, rams, hogs and turkey. They also have one of the top private bass lakes in Texas. The ranch is located on 25 square miles of Texas Hill Country. Their 19 bedroom 28,000 square foot Spanish Hacienda Style Mansion is a wonderful retreat less than 100 miles from San Antonio.
Whitetail deer, Fallo deer, Sika deer, Texas Dahl, Black Hawaiian, Corsican or Mouflon sheep, Spanish goat, Catalina goat, Axis deer, Black Buck antelope, Ibex, Red deer, Oryx, Buffalo, Rio Grande turkey, hogs (most are a cross between Russian boars and Feral hogs.
Hunting is usually from blinds, tree stands or along game trails. Each hunter is guided to his or her hunting location. Transportation is furnished on the ranch.
Bass fishing is on one-mile private lake on the ranch that is stocked with Texas and Black bass. The lake record currently is 14 pounds. Boats with electric trolling motors are furnished.
