If you are looking for a truly All-Inclusive Hunting Package, you have come to the right place.  Hunting packages include (2) nights and (3) days lodging in a hunting lodge or in a private cabin, three home cooked meals a day, guaranteed hunting license, guide fee which includes field cleaning and trophy prep AND full meat processing (hand cut, vacuum packed and frozen).  From the time you are meet at our gate, to when you leave the ranch with your fully processed meat, this outfitter will handle every aspect of your hunt.

Be prepared for a fair chase hunt! With over 5 square miles of prime natural habitat, the ranch provides challenges to even the most seasoned hunter, but their experienced guides and “No Game, No Pay” policy practically ensure that you won’t go home empty handed. In addition the season is year-round, allowing ample time to fit the most demanding schedule.

Colorado Elk Hunts

7-Day (5-day hunt) Guided Elk Hunts
This outfitter has been guiding hunts in the Piedra Primitive wilderness for 42 years. You will pack in 2.5 hours by horseback and use a horse as a vehicle to reach various areas we hunt. The hunting area encompasses approximately 25-30 square miles per camp and covered with spruce, aspen and meadows. For archery and muzzleloader, hunting method is bugling, cow calling, stalking to ground blind hunting. For rifle hunting, hunting method is still stalking to stand hunting and some bugling depending on the hunt conditions. All hunts are tailored to match the skills and experience of the hunters. The camps will accommodate 6-8 hunters and are located at an attitude of 8500-9000’. Guide ratio is 2 hunters per guide. Archery hunts average 20-30% ration with some hunts of 50% of shots taken and 100% sightings of game. The muzzleload hunt has averaged with 50% ration with 100% sighting of game. Rifle hunts have enjoyed an overall average 40-50% ratio on elk and/or deer and have hunts 60-80% or higher. Like all hunting, the success ratios are dependent on the weather and the physical condition of the hunter at the time of the hunt.

Base camp has wall tent accommodations heated with wood burning stoves, cots with foam matting for sleeping comfort and all meals. Spike camps are more primitive tent camps. Everything is included other than personal gear and licenses. Archery hunts for elk have guaranteed licenses and deer and bear licenses are by drawing. Muzzleload licenses are by drawing. Drawing licenses is 4/01/08.

San Juan National Forest Elk Hunt

This is a full service pack in hunt on horseback into heart of Colorado’s rugged San Juan National Forest. The hunting camp can accommodate between 6-8 hunters at a time. All meals prepared by camp cook. Hunting area is some of the best Elk hunting territory in the country. Also excellent Mule Deer population for combo hunts. Hunters should prepare for this hunt by being in good physical condition, as this is a very physical hunt that will require horseback riding and a lot of walking to improve your chance of a successful hunt.  The excitement of hunting bugling bulls at close range is what puts this hunt at the top of all serious big game hunters wish list. This outfitters most popular hunts are the 1st and 4th Rifle, which are by drawing and must be applied by April 1st. Licenses are available over the counter for Archery and the 2nd and 3rd rifle seasons. Elk, Deer and bear combo hunts are available.

Colorado Elk Unguided Deluxe Drop Camps

These drop camps consist of our packing you and your personal gear and groceries to any of four remote camp locations. We furnish all camping equipment necessary to run your camp. A list of the exact equipment will be furnished to your group at the time of your booking with us. We also have these camps completely set up and ready to go including a pre-cut wood supply. We furnish the saddle horse and one pack animal for you and your personal gear to and from our camp. (The saddle horse and pack animal is not left in camp) Our packer will contact you daily by radio for your needs and check your camp at a prearranged time. Our package also includes packing out any game you have harvested.

Camp locations are at approximately 8500-9000’ in mountainous terrain with a mixture of spruce, aspen and meadows. Camps will accommodate 6 hunters maximum and are 2-8 miles from the trailhead. They have enjoyed an average harvest of 30-40% and as high as 75% depending on the physical condition of the hunter and weather at the time of the hunt.

Elk Private Land Drop Camps

This hunt takes place on the 320-acre Snowball Ranch north of Pagosa Springs, Co at 8,000’ altitude. The ranch is bordered by US Forest Service land. This outfitter offers four different hunts with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 hunters. The drop camp has a single room cabin with fireplace that can be reached my 4WD ATV’s. Various licensing options are available to hunt Elk-Bear-Deer.
